Congresswoman  Unable to Reach Banks

If you thought it was just you that is having a hard time getting in touch with your lender, think again. You are not the only person that has serious problems getting through to your lender. In fact, Congresswoman Maxine Waters recently made multiple attempts to get through to her constituent lenders. Congresswoman Waters tried for four hours to get through to one lender and when trying to get through to another lender her call was dropped. Her constituents need to modify their loans desperately.

Both Bank of America and Wachovia were both offending lenders that Congresswoman Maxine Waters simply could not get through to. It took four hours to get through to one lender and with Bank of America she was redirected to different departments over and over and then the line went completely dead. Extensions given to the Congresswoman by Bank of America did not work. On the third attempt the Congresswoman called the banks 800 number, got multiple departments, and was finally forwarded to a hardship assistance department. After two hours, the hardship department told the Congresswoman to speak to the refinance department and eventually the Congresswoman was cut off again
.

While B of A apologized for the issues the Congresswoman and her constituent went through, the system is completely broken. It is hard to understand how banks can be so heartless in such difficult economic times. If the banks don't care about our politicians, it pretty safe to say that they probably don't care about the average borrower either.
